Of course organizations like Mayo are going to be all for this.  This is turning to a single payer plan with ZERO accounts receivable.

The general population sees it as a way of reeling in costs of health care, but the providers will be paid based off "usual and customary fees."  Large providers based in large cities get way more than their smaller counter parts in more rural locations.

For a place like Mayo this plan is a plus.  The only question is how big a bonus it will be for them and their colleges.

Bend over and get ready!
I think you missed my point.  Mayo does not support the Obama plan because it does not address "a method that pays for value and quality, rather than the quantity of medical procedures."

Also, they say, "As healthcare providers, we believe that insertion of a measurement of value into the payment system is a critical step to change provider behavior throughout the country and “bend the cost curve” in U.S. health spending without compromising health."

Mayo politely told Obama that his plan does nothing to control costs or improve the quality of healthcare.

It sounds like they have some good ideas.

Sorry, My Bad  :-[

I blew a vein this morning with overload of Obama and spouted with brain in neutral.

So many medical organizations have pushed for stuff like this I did not comprehend.

And when was the last time the gummint was involved where you actually had a zero accounts receivable situation? Most organizations wait eons to get paid by the gummint.

Bend over indeed.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., delivered the official pronouncement on what had been expected for weeks, saying, "It's better to have a product based on quality and thoughtfulness rather than try to jam something through."

SOUNDS LIKE SUCKING UP TO HIS BASE!!!!  I hope he gets "Daschled" in 2010.

I'm NO Reid fan, regardless of the NRA saying he's pro 2nd Amend. HE SUCKS!

I'm glad Porkulus was first, as Limbaugh said, if Obamacare was the first thing he did, it would already be law by now...

With the current Medicare/Medicaid plan private doctors receive 85% of stated payment.  University doctors receive 100% plus an, I think, 10% add on.  Now this was because, obviously, university sponsored plans are cutting edge programs since only the best are in education...this was sleight of hand to begin to force doctors away from private practice towards a more controllable and social type of situation...read increased socialism.  Now, in addition, government sponsored school systems have far less requirements for reporting and forget the bull, that's just a veiled effort to be punitive against private practioners.

The latest is only a continuance...ever wonder why they stopped allowing medical deductions from your income tax?  C'mon you liberals out there...think hard, you can do this if you really try.  No tax deduction more pain...is that helping?
