Why would you NOT want to buy your own country?!?  Something nice in the tropics, yet a bit out of hurricane alley.  ;D

Invite a few American polititians there for weekend stays at US taxpayer's expense.  Have them lavish you with enough military backing nobody else would think of touching the place.
