In the short term you are correct. But in the long run, when things have restablized, the basic unit of currency will return to it's base in silver and gold.

Bartering will be more likely for a long long time after restabilization..... if you are planning on unloading that gold, you will probably never even get the chance to meet people that have the resources to actually purchase it from you..... or more likely it will get you killed trying to sell/trade it.

Not being rude or dismissing the financial predicament of the US of A but our dollar is now worth .92c US meaning that our firearms will hopefully be cheaper  ;D

(it used to be worth .50c)
