For those of you who missed this little kerfuffle, the Akins Accelerator is an accessory stock specifically designed to comply with
the requirements of semi automatic fire when attached to a Ruger 10/22. The design was vetted and approved by the ATF back
in 2003. AFTER production and sales began and thousands of these things were sold the ATF reversed course and declared them
to be Machineguns. Initially the company told cusotmers it was all a big mistake , but they should surrender their LEGALLY ACQUIRED PROPERTY TO THE ATF WITHOUT COMPENSATION "until the matter was resolved". Well, after 11 months the matter has apparently been resolved.
The ATF has gotten away with another power grab, expanded the definition of machineguns, put an entire group of people on some kind of "watch list" and has generally wreaked havoc for no other reason than it can.
Welcome to 21st Century America.
Best regards,
