Rifle Slings
« on: November 25, 2009, 11:23:38 PM »
I noticed an episode of Best Defense where Rob was using a Precision Rifle and a two-point sling.  The sling he was using allowed him to carry the rifle in a muzzle-down (resting) position, or a low-ready position, or to be slung around the back so as to transition to a sidearm.  I am in the market for a sling for a Precision Rifle and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of sling that was.  It looked pretty amazing to me.  Thanks.

There was nothing special about the sling itself... it was just a standard "carry strap" type two point sling. It was probably one of the adjustable Browning slings that you can get just about anywhere.

The technique is an adaptation of the way I would carry a carbine.

One of the advantages of the 2 point sling is that it is easy to get the rifle out of the way to get to the pistol or for any admin task... which is all the more important with a heavier/longer bolt gun.
