Funny, I do not think you get the take a side thing. It means figuratively and literately. No President will be perfect because he is human. End of discussion. But when you state pro Constitution but vote for a proSocialist , whom did not even hide it might i add , with a voting record of higher taxes, Bigger gov., anti Constitutional and is against the thought of God in AMERICAN life. Never mind the Apologetic-Bowing-HealthCare-Bailout F-ing B.S.!  I am seriously confused. I have taken your post with many grains of salt but this one got my panties in a bunch. The thing that lights the fuse of my tampoon is that even though you are intelligent in your argument you are intelligently arguing a dumb-arse point. If it is true you voted for BHO, your bad, this is partly your fault and will be held against you until memory fails. Take comfort its not forever. The fact that you made the mistake and own up to it and then try to defend it is insulting. Take a chance to grow a little better from your mistake and own full responsibility! FQ, JC is right . That oath We swore had a line about "Threats, foreign AND DOMESTIC". The whole point of that is that defending the Constitution is NOT the same as defending the regime. When the Regime is composed of people who openly flaunt their communism, and they fact that America is the greatest nation on earth and they want to change that, no Patriot with sense or conscience can stand with them. If you stand with a regime like that simply because "They won" then you are no better than the people of Nazi Germany who could smell the stink from the ovens , but never spoke of it, so they could claim "They didn't know".  They said "It wasn't US, it was those crazy Nazi's" but I ask you, who let "those crazy Nazi's stay in power ? Who elected them in the first place ?
Don't EVER forget, Hitler came to power through the Democratic process, it was a cleansing war that removed him.

All I ask is that I get a chance to vote him out of office. If I get that, I will stand with the flag, if not I will stand against it as horrible as that is to me (and as a patriot it is horrible, I would literally rather die than fire on the stars and stripes). But I will only fire on my flag if the opportunity to vote for a new government in a free and fair election is denied.

This saying goes way back, but I remember it best being bandied about during the late 60's. Applies here and it applies to you specifically.

FQ, you were dead wrong to back bho in '08, and you are dead wrong here to equate your gummint with your country. One of the many things you have yet to figure out. There is hope for you - on occasion - the longer you stay the hell out of academia. But only on occasion, and this is not one of them.

All revolutions are followed by a "reign of terror" a purge to get rid of the supporters of the previous regime.
In this case it will cut a huge swath through arts and entertainment, media, (Print and TV), the Education system, and the legal profession, there will also be a certain percentage of ordinary people who just HATE the ideas of personal responsibility, rule by law instead of "focus group", and capitalism. I foresee those FEMA camps being filled regardless of who wins.
The question is, since we can't just leave them there for the rest of their lives, what to do with them. It's the same question that faced Nazi Germany with the Jews, if we can't get any other countries to take them do we just shoot them ?  Try to "reeducate them ? Or just stick them all in Hawaii and set up a naval blockade ?

I say we ship them to Miami, stick their asses in tiny little rickety boats, and send them south about 90 miles.  A little payback for the Mariel Boat Lift.
