For me personally, I've come to 2 decisions. I do not converse with any women at my workplace. That may seem a bit extreme, but with all of this sexual harassment nonsense, it simply isn't worth it. The accusation of it can be so damning you could lose your job over it even if you were totally innocent. I know several people over the years that it's happened to.
Another that I'm very solid about is, don't leave me in a room with someones small children. I'll get up and walk right out. Many parents tell their small daughters who are still far too young to reason, "if anyone ever touches you down there, you tell mommy right away!" Now the kid knows she can get someone in trouble very easily if she doesn't like them. I don't need, or want any of it.
It reminds me of the case in California where the mother and son who ran a day care center were falsely charged with child molestation. It was one of the longest, most expensive trials in California history. They were both found to be completely innocent. It really didn't matter. Their reputation was shot, and they were bankrupt, and lost their business. The kids were all coached by prosecuting attorneys, and no one knew where the truth stopped, and the BS started. A hell of a lousy way to have your life destroyed. It's a shame it has come to this. Bill T.
