Homeland Security...Yeah Right!
« on: December 29, 2009, 04:59:34 PM »
Our Fearless Leader made the following comments today about the Nigerian Underwear Bomber incident. Obama said many things went right (did he mean "lucky") after the incident with passengers and the flight crew subduing the man and government officials working quickly to increase security. He singled out his homeland security secretary, Janet Napolitano, backing her much-criticized comments that the attempted terror attack showed the aviation security system worked.
"As Secretary Napolitano has said, once the suspect attempted to take down Flight 253, after his attempt, it's clear that passengers and crew, our homeland security systems, and our aviation security took all appropriate actions," Obama said.

I find it remarkable that this administration wants to disarm us yet we, ordinary citizens or foreign nationals in this case, are vital cogs in the airline security system.  We also have a Homeland Security Secretary, who thinks everything worked fine and dandy.  Read NO PASSPORT, NO LUGGAGE and PAID CASH FOR A ONE WAY TICKET TO DETROIT!  I don't think Ms. Napolitano has the credentials or capacity to act as a High School Hall Monitor more less the Defender of the Homeland.  If I were King for a Day, I would give each passenger a handgun as they made their way onto the aircraft.  Men, women, OK, no Kids, but everyone as they do now, would have a vested interest in airline security.  At least we would have a fighting chance over the malcontents that find their way thru our current security systems.  Only my opinion, I could be wrong.

 You COULD be wrong.
I ain't betting against you though  ;D

The system worked ? Yes, the Passengers took care of the problem for free and the taxpayers get hosed billions so the feds can do paper work and let the bad guy through in the first place.
Truth is that the "system" has been (again ) shown for the worthless money pit that it is.  >:(

Y'all are missing the point. We don't effing matter to the mopes in DC. 200 could be killed in a terrorist plane attack, and not one damn thing would ever changed. The feds would wring their hands, and then impose yet more restrictions and limitations on us, more intrusions into our personal liberties and freedoms.

Why? Because we - as individual Americans - do not matter to anyone in power.

Press Secretary and Chief Dough Boy Robert Gibbs was asked if they knew the underwear bomber was on a watch list.

His reply was there are over 500,000 names on that list,....Huh?

And Janet "From Another Planet" Napolitano??? Please....

God help us and this country if we get attacked again, and God help those politicians as well, (comments omitted),....

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Napolitano said that after 60-90 minutes everyone was informed about what happened and everyone was on high alert. I have two problems with that....

1. She should never have said that publicly
2. Holy Crap! What took so long? 60-90 minutes to even get everyone on the same page? 60-90 minutes before you could even start formulating a plan about how best to deal with this? 60-90 minutes of complete incompetency?

I would also like to know why ALL planes were not grounded and ALL air travel was not stopped indefinitely. Are they so naive as to think that we are no longer susceptible to a multi-pronged attack? Did they not even give it a thought that there might be other bombers on other planes?

Forgive us father, for we know not what we elected!

Obama was finishing up the back nine and couldn't be disturbed.  Besides, the system worked.........Napolitano said so.  It's all under control.

Sure it is.....after 9/11 no passenger or group of passengers will permit a terrorist to bring down a plane if humanly possible as evidenced the other day over Detroit.  In other words boys and girls........we're on our own to protect ourselves.  A sad state of affairs, but there it is.  Don't rely on this abortion of an administration to do anything for us.  We all need to remain vigilant at all times and support one another by steping up to the plate if and when necessary.

You are exactly right.  Yet the political elite want to disarm us, thereby denying us the tools to do the job at which they themselves have screwed the pooch so badly.

I mourn for what looks to be the emminent demise of this once great republic.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

System hasn't quite worked completely.  Both Napolitano and Odamna still have their jobs.
