We do touch on shotgun inside the home again... specifically, in the penetration demo segment that is coming up!

I would like it known that I really, really, really wanted to comment on The Pincus' use of a 1911 in the episode, but I behaved.

And you are correct. It is the most bestest gun ever made, ever, ever.  ;D

1911J, I used that Baer just to get you to comment!  ;D  (Bane was shooting off camera actually hitting the target for me, of course....).

Should we revisit my earlier buy/no buy comment about the 1911? ;D
Everything I needed to learn in life I learned from Country Music.

The preview for next week is what really got my attention.  :o

I think I am really going to like how you keep building on the scenarios.  two thumbs way up   8)

"Why are you carrying a pistol?  Expecting trouble?"

"No Maam.  If I was expecting trouble, I'd have a rifle."

In your home invasion scenario the bad guy was dressed like one might expect and had an obvious weapon (confirmation).  What about a better dressed bad guy with a concealed weapon?  Would this cause you to go to your pre-positioned gun?  Probably not.

This is an argument for carrying inside the home.  If the person at the door is a stranger, one could take the precaution of gripping, but not drawing one's gun.  One foot could be placed about 6 inches from the door in a position to block it from fully opening.  That way, an attempt to knock the door fully open would be thwarted, and the defender could quickly draw his weapon.  On the other hand, if the visitor was peaceful, he would never know that the homeowner was armed or cautious.

I like your series.  Makes one think, which is the point after all.  Where can one go to learn the bare hand skills demonstrated?

We deal with carrying inside the home in a future episode, Troy. As for where to find the training... check out martialbladeconcepts.com and icetraining.us .

Thanks for watching!

Dear Troy:

To ensure that viewers can easily "relate" to the scenario as shown on the screen, we opted for the obvious scumbag look. Seeing the "visitor" firsthand through the window or a peephole would obviously give you more insight into his intentions and more information from which to work.

As Rob mentioned, we do deal with carrying inside the home this season.

As for information on the empty-hand tactics, please check out my DVDs "Practical Unarmed Combatives Volumes 1 and 2" at www.staysafemedia.com.

Thanks again for your interest and comments.

Stay safe,

Mike
