................... For now, with the current political climate, things will settle down. I hope everything improves!   bill T.

I would not count on it after the alarm on Sebastian's Snowflakes in Hell which MB brought up in his blog.  The MAIG document that was discussed with BHO to outlaw guns by regulation with not a single congressional ramped me up.  I'll have a Rock River 7.62 varmint with a threaded barrel next week and paperwork flying to the ATF same day for a 7.62 can.

Guys, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really don't think BO really cares about this issue. He's anti yes, but its not his priority. For some of his people like Holder it is, but remember how fast the "helping Mexico out" trial balloon got shot down? If he could pass an AWB painlessly he would, but now he's sweating midterms and in 2011 he'll be worried about re-election. I don't see Rahm Emmanuel risking that over ideology. He knows that you don't go kicking over anthills if you can avoid it. If he's re-elected, there may be cause for worry, but now, as long as we keep on our reps I wouldn't sweat it.

Smart move Rastus.  We can't have those evil cans here in Michigan. :(

Bill, If the stuff on your rifles was thinner than cosmoline and white it was LSA a teflon lube that Colt developed just for the AR back in the 60's

It was white, it looked a bit like Mayonnaise. Very slippery stuff. I have a similar white lubricant / grease I've had for years called Lubriplate. It also works well. Mostly, in the Summer I use Mobil 1 20W-50. It has a nice consistency that doesn't run off so easily as some of the gun oils do.  Bill T.
