Maybe a yack-hawk? Please, a camoed plastic, laser sighted SA? They might as well make it in pink. Seriously, a GP-100 I can sort of see (maybe, kind of) or a .357 LCR, but a blackhawk? Sorry, pilgrim, but I just don't sabe.

...since Ruger already brought out their version of an AR, my guess is something M14/M1A-ish.  Well, hey, that's my guess anyway.  

They tried that back in the early 80's with the Ruger "XGI". It was supposed to be a .308 version of the Mini 14. It never got past the prototype stage. They had several issues with it. Most notably with cracking in the investment cast receivers. With that said, Ruger is a world class leader in investment cast technology. Their subsidiary is Pine Tree Castings in Prescott, Arizona. They had one of the first vacuum furnaces in the world for investment casting Titanium.

It would be nice to see a .308 semi from them at a more down to Earth price than what Springfield charges for them. There is no reason they can't put them out for roughly the same price as a Mini 14, as the gun would be simply scaled up in size. There is little doubt it would sell.......QUICKLY. And...... If they could in fact master large size investment cast, semi auto receivers, perhaps a Ruger Garand?  Tomorrow we shall see ?    Bill T.

Does it make a difference or is it just aesthetics?
FQ13 who likes deep blueing and nice wood (see above comments), but in a combat gun I'm very easily moved towards plastic stocks and stainless or at least parkerized metal.
