Frankly to me, the true Kalishnikov vodka yould be the cheap Russian stuff that comes in one litre bottles with no lid, just a foil cap you peal off and throw away. I'm currently reading a history of KGB operations based on smuggled documents and decoded radio intercepts.
It seems the most noteworthy thing about the spy we know as "Col. Rudolph Abel" ( Caught in NY served 4 years and was exchanged for Francis Gary Powers ) was that he was the only illegal agent sent to the US or Canada after WWII that did not get recalled and kicked out of the KGB for drunkenness.
