The Hurt Locker on DVD/BluRay Tues.
« on: January 10, 2010, 05:16:23 PM »
For those that haven't seen it, or maybe not even heard of it. I made a previous post when it was on the big screen, and it is one to rent on DVD.  It was nominated for Best Director, and a couple others, but war movies, that are not mega-productions have a hard time against the sappy, mainstream, PC, Hollywood crowd.,

Tues. is the day.

Here's two trailer's.

Sniper scene, it's a much longer and graphic scene but this is a snippet.

The official trailer:

Surround sound will be making the neighbors look twice Tues... ::)

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

I thought it was good too.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. I will be watching it. I heard great things about it, but it seemed to last about two weeks in the cinema. By the time I decided to go, it was gone. :-\ It will be a must rent next week.

Not bad for an independent movie. Awesome to see the world through EOD eyes. It definitely changes up the somewhat overused war movie formula.

Just downloaded and watched it last night.  Great movie IMO!  A must see for anybody that would read this forum.

My question is.  How many people that watched the movie REALLY got the scene at the end with the cereal boxes???  I'm sure decorated veterans did.  But I wonder what the masses took away from that...   :-\
