Really? 5 ppm of lead and its because hunters shoot animals and anglers drop sinkers?

I guess the periodic table was meant for the lab only. Because lead must not be a natural occurance.

The must have a lot of thoughtless hunters if that many deer carcasses are left where eagles can get to them.  /sarcasm
It just doesn't make sense.  Sounds more like someone deliberately poisoning birds--there are a lot of sickos out there.
“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

I don't know about Eagles, but I remember when they were making a stink about the Condors  I heard that the tree huggers were leaving dead animals for them to feed on, some one asked if THOSE animals had been checked for high amounts of lead and the spokesperson just kind of hemmed and hawwed and admitted that, No they had not.

Go to google and type in the person's name, Eva Cameron, who found the sickly eagle.

Do a little poking around there... you might...well...kinda draw your own conclusions.

Doing a search on facebook to see who is friends with who might also lead you to some conclusions as well.

Just sayin'

You mean someone would deliberately poison an animal to further an agenda....

Why...why...that would be like throwing out certain data sets pertaining to global warming and tweaking the data migration and computer modeling to fit a particular agenda...

Pfffft....no "scientist" would ever do that...

Jeesh...

Shocked!  I tell ya....I'm shocked!   :o

In my opinion.... this is just another end run, backdoor attack on the Second Amendment...along the lines of "If we can't control the guns, we'll control the ammunition."

It also makes me think that when everyone has to start using solid copper or solid whatever other nonlead metal bullets, it will make it easier for those guys to plug their patented machine for laser engraving serial numbers on the back end of bullets:

"See, our serialization process yields better results on solid copper bullets versus the softer and more deformable lead bullets."

as those two or three jerks laugh all the way to the bank.

Just coincidentally I was over at the snowflakes in hell blog recently looking over the Mayor's Against Illegal Guns agenda which was discovered via a FOIA request.

One of the "planks" of Bloomberg's MAIG agenda was to ban the importation of "sporting" ammunition.

Hmm...that goes to slippery slope...what does MAIG consider sporting?

They could write tons of laws or wildlife/hunting regulations that basically say that anything containing lead = NONsporting .

Would it be too much to ask that they just make it MAGs ( mayors against guns)? Thats the agenda, lets be honest. In Bloomberg's world the only legal guns will be owned by a police force he controls or a bodyguard that works for him. The rest of us can pound sand. Lets be up front here. Though actually, I prefer EMAGs (Ex-Mayors against Guns).

via the NRA hunter's rights website I found this little gem:

Quote
NRA and other groups reported the fact that the original lead fragments found last fall were discovered by a dermatologist, William Cornatzer, who is on the board of directors of the Peregrine Fund, which seeks to ban the use of lead ammunition.  His reports surfaced within days of a Peregrine Fund conference to address the issue.

The Peregrine Fund was the group who spearheaded the effort behind getting lead bullets out of the California condor's region.

Then doing a google search on "William Cornatzer" I discovered that he donated $1,000 to get some Democrat elected.

A'yup...there's NO agenda here.... NOPE!  None whatsoever....

Moving along people....nothing else to see here....keep moving....
