Ithaca Shotguns
« on: January 27, 2010, 03:29:20 PM »
Was glad to hear praise of the Ithaca 37's on the DR Radio podcast.  As a proud owner of three vintage 37 field guns and one of the new Home Defense guns, Michael, you won't be disappointed with any of their shotguns.  Just know that like all guns, they tend to multiply on you.

They are making the new guns every bit as well as the originals, and in some ways better.  Looking forward to your shooting opinion on their new 1911.  Best of all, the Ithaca guys are going to great lengths to make sure every part of their product is made in the USA.

I love the old Ithacas and would love to compare the old M37 to the new ones.

I've bought 2 older Model 37's in the past couple weeks off Gunbroker. One of them arrived today.

You can still get them at pretty decent prices too.

+1 on the Ithaca 37....love mine......Beautiful guns with strong receivers.

Found a 16ga. in a pawn shop a few years back for $125. Excellent condition except someone had hacked on the end of the barrel so bad with a saw that it looked like a rabid, steel-jawed beaver had went at it. I cleaned it up and set the length at 20", but am still on the prowl for a factory length barrel.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
