Woo Hoo!!!!

I can't believe I won!

Thank you so much, Marshal'ette and Ruger!!

I had visited this thread just the other day, catching up on the fantastic stories and didn't even notice.  I now was checking my "spam" mail and found an email from Marshal'ette letting me know I had won.  Needless to say, I have made sure she's not "Spam"!   LOL!

Thanks again!!!

Alex

Just picked up my first Ruger this past weekend...a SR9.

I was looking for something for CCW and for IDPA competition.  I was originally going to go for an inexpensive 1911, and then the SR9 was announced and was recommended to me.  I was dead set on .45ACP for some time, but as price was in issue, and I wanted to be able to afford to shoot the dang thing, I eventually 'converted' to 9mm.

I liked the slimness of the design, the manual thumb safety, and the overall design.  What helped to clinch it was holding one and feeling the grip and low bore line.

Read numerous reviews, and as expected for a newly produced item, there were teething pains.  Luckily, I got one of fairly recent manufacture, with the new mag catch and mag design.  Took it to the range the day after I got it and it more than meets my expectations.  Shoots far better than I do, partly because I'm not used to striker-fired actions...mainly because I suck.  I was able to carry a 5" 1911 in reasonable comfort...this one won't be a problem at all.

Shirt arrived!

Very very nice, heavy blue denim shirt with the embroiderd "Ruger" on the front.    Thank you so much, Marshall'ette and Ruger!

My buds are already jealous!   LOL!

I purchased my first Ruger, a MK II around 1982. I was in the USAF in Florida, and we had plenty of room for "plinking". That was a very nice auto, and being my first, I was in love. Several years later, after getting out of the military and into civilian life, I was strapped for cash, and sold it to a friend.  :'(

Fast forward to 2007, after having other brands of auto's, i missed my Ruger, and was fortunate enough to be in a position to purchase a P345.  After having love and lost my first Ruger, this second is fast becoming a very dear friend, one that i will never part with. I've also stayed in contact with that friend that i sold my first Ruger to, and I'm in negotiations to purchase her back! I hope to soon have my first love back in my possession so that I may again be plinking happily ever after! ;D
