My condolences to everyone who posted about losing a furry friend. I know how you feel. My best buddy, Rocky was a 98lb, 9 year old boxer that had to be put down, due to kidney and heart problems, just last year. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried and acted the fool for a long, long time. He and his brother Capi, who passed the year before, were like my children. Don't know if I can ever bear to have another dog as I know their passing and the grief that accompanies it is inevitable.

Looking back, that's probably the main reason I have not let myself form any attachment to an animal in nearly 20 years. After my German Shepherd 'Dixie' died I got pretty attached to my brother's dog 'Buster' and then he died in 1991. I personally haven't owned a dog since then.

I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo
For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
