A pet peeve of mine? The over use or improper use of the word 'awesome':

"Shooting a Ruger 10/22 is an awesome experience." When the word is better used in, "Shooting a full-auto Uzi is an awesome experience."

Not every common, mundane, routine experience one has is LIKE PHUCKING AWESOME (said with my best CA. Valley Girl accent); it is good!  ;)

The flip side of that is "nice". I ws born, bred and raised an upper middle class, Scotts, Southern Episcopal boy. We are all about the "stiff upper lip". Paris Hilton gave you a BJ in the new Ferarri she just gave you? "It was nice". Spent the night in jail on a DUI and got gang raped? "It was nice, but I would have preffered better company". God bless the South! The land of the polite euphemism.
