Yahoo News is reporting that it will be this year or next, but definitely during Obummer's term.

Of course it will be during ObaMao's term.  A flaming liberal like Stevens isn't going to wait and gamble that the post turtle in chief gets a second term, and he DAMN sure ain't gonna go when there's a President in the WH who MIGHT nominate a (gasp) CONSERVATIVE to the high court.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

Guarantee's 3 Liberal seats on the Court.
Unless he leaves and is replaced before Jan 2011 Rep. will have both houses, they could LOSE 2 seats.  ;D

There were some earlier indications of Stevens' pending retirement--he only hired 1 law clerk instead of the usual 4.  He is 89 or 90 and that's plenty of time to have proven his career.  And, Odamna is in the WH so it's a lock that his liberal perspective will be replaced by another liberal perspective.  The questions now are who gets the nomination and when?  Doing something this year will potentially impact the coming elections stimulating even more anti-left backlash.  Waiting until after the elections may put Odamna in a very weakened position (please God) to try for a radical appointment.  Either way, we will have to keep a close eye on 2A issues in the future.  It's not going to get any easier for patriotic Americans.
