Great point Tom. They are probably blaming guns for the death rather than the criminal. Being PO is not my thing, not only do I blame the criminal rather than the weapon, I blame the family (or lack thereof) of the criminal as well for contributing to their lack of morals or conscience.
Paraguy, I blame ONLY the scumbag who committed the crime. All of my Urban living has been in "bad" neighborhoods, I have seen kids from wonderful 2 parent homes go away for murder, and I have seen the kids of substance abusing single parents work their way to college.
