McAffe virusscan update causes reboots.
« on: April 21, 2010, 02:11:27 PM »
This is the warning to anyone who uses the McAffe Virusscan with atomatic update set to "ON"

Lates .dat file pushed by the McAffe to your computer will cause the system to go down with the DCOM pop-up message displayed on the screen.
Majority of the corporate users are affected. There are some workarounds posted on the web already. The easiest one is to reboot in the 'Safe mode with networking'.

Good luck to you all.

I dumped McAffe a long time ago since it made my computer run slower then 150 weight gear oil in the dead of winter. But thanks for the warning/post
“As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people.  On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and a complete narcissistic moron.”  H.L. Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun,  July 26, 1920.

I heard on the news that it was because they wrote an update wrong and it made the software recognize a standard part of windows as a virus and that is what caused all the problems..... They said they have issued a new update that has repaired the problem.
Everything I needed to learn in life I learned from Country Music.
