Aw, shucks,....I missed it and actually had the gall to buy more ammo, and plan a dastardly range trip Sun ;D 8) ;D.

9 July is International Gun Destruction Day and this year it is being marked by governments, UN agencies and NGOs through gun destruction events and awareness raising programmes around the world.

In Macedonia, CIVIL, the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje and representatives from the Ministry of Interior held a press conference launching the selection of winners of a national drawing contest on gun violence that started during the Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence. In Mozambique, guns have been destroyed and made into sculptures. In Ghana, the National Peace Council has given radio interviews to raise awareness about the small arms issue.

In the run up to the day, the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (UN-LiREC) has been busy promoting effective stockpile management and firearms destruction practices, including a cost-benefit analysis of weapons destruction, throughout the greater Caribbean. “Every gun that is destroyed is a weapon that is no longer available to be used to kill, injure or intimidate. These events symbolise the worldwide campaign to bring the flood of guns under control”, said Rebecca Peters, IANSA Director.

875 million guns are currently circulating in the world and the number is growing. Guns produced by far outnumbers guns destroyed. Unregulated guns are involved in crime, killings, forced displacement, rape and torture across the world.

Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon
“Crucially, governments must be able to exercise legitimate authority and provide safety, security and development to their citizens. If they do not, their citizens may seek to guarantee their security through alternative forms of self-protection, retributive justice or resort to armed violence. As long as the human security of affected populations remains unanswered, both in terms of personal and socio-economic security, the negative impact of small arms will continue to exist.” (S/2008/258)

I don't even know where to start. I had to deal with this crap teaching international relations at a Quaker school, where the students thought that guns were evil, government was good, and barbaric practices could be solved by a UN Human Rights Commision on X and claims of national soveriegnty were colonial throwbacks. I spent about 25% of my class time peeling these myths back. I justified it to myself by saying it wasn't abusing my position to indoctrinate, just letting them see another POV. Still not sure if I passed the ethics test, but it was either that or choke the life out of whatever idiot put those thoughts in their heads to begin with. :-\
Meanwhile, back at the ranch.....I will volunteer to take and destroy any AK Macedonia wants. I will turn it into a pro-peace, feminist, and human rights work of art. Personally I think a yugo AK with a "This machine Kills Facists" sticker on one side of the stock, and a "What Part Of No Means No! Did You Fail to Understand, Asshole?" on the other, combined with Robert E Lee's family crest, Sig Sempre Tyrannus inscibed on the barrel is all very artistic. ;D Bonus points if its FA. ;)

So aren't regulated ones, Especially in some of the places he mentioned, (we all know that African "troops" measure their accuracy in "Minute's of village").

Typical FQ, screwed up in 4 languages.   ::)
You're amazing     ;D

The Lee Family crest is pictured at this link.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_family

It says, " Ne Incautus Futuri".

"SIC Semper tyrannis"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sic_semper_tyrannis

Motto

The phrase was recommended by George Mason to the Virginia Convention in 1776, as part of the state's seal. The Seal of the Commonwealth of Virginia shows Virtue, spear in hand, with her foot on the prostrate form of Tyranny, whose crown lies nearby. The Seal was planned by Mason and designed by George Wythe, who signed the United States Declaration of Independence and taught law to Thomas Jefferson.[1] Additionally, the phrase is the motto of the United States Navy attack submarine named for the state, the USS Virginia. The phrase is also the motto of the U.S. city Allentown, the third largest city in Pennsylvania, and is referenced in the official state song of Maryland.
[edit] History

The phrase is attributed to Marcus Junius Brutus, the most famous figure in the assassination of Julius Caesar on March 15, 44 BC; however, it is more probably a later dramatic invention, as Roman historians of the period did not record it. In American history, John Wilkes Booth shouted the phrase after shooting President Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865, in part because of the association with the assassination of Caesar.[2][3] Timothy McVeigh was wearing a T-shirt with this phrase and a picture of Lincoln on it when he was arrested on April 19, 1995, the day of the Oklahoma City bombing.[4]

I have a 3 letter education as well,  GED  ;D
