Nothing bigger then a .38 snub and a .32 KT. I only use them as back-ups and they are really only worthwhile for use in a car, when I'm sitting they're faster then belt holster and easier to reach then a glove box. For a full size 1911 you would need bell bottoms to get to the grip.

I tried once to conceal a Kimber Ultra Carry (While at home), just to see if it was concealable. It WASN'T.

I've carried my Colt (mini) Gov't .380 in my boot several times before, in places where it was my only option. It wasn't terribly uncomfortable, but wasn't very accessible either. I used a cheap Cobra IWB holster (the suede kind with the metal clip) and clipped it to the top of my boot and then laced it up.

I have seen people carry up to a Glock 19 in an ankle holster, I have a Safariland ankle holster that I think was the best ever developed, it is a neoprene sock if you will, that you pull over your shin and zip up, it is made for a J frame S&W, it is extremely secure and does not print, you can run at full speed and have no worry of it going up, down or sideways, or coming out, down side is my legs got bigger and I can no longer wear it, and it is hot as hell, the neoprene makes you sweat. I need to take pics as this is something few have seen, maybe Michael, but few others.

If you decide to use one, get an ankle weight  on the leg your going to carry it on, and wear it for a couple of weeks, as your leg needs to get used to the imbalance.

When I was working for the Armored car company I carried a S&W 342PD in a Kramer ankle holster, at 11ounces I didn't notice it, can't see carrying anything larger/heavier than that.

I carried my NAA mini in an ankle holster once. It was comfortable.

Unless you wear boots, I've seen those "leetle" NAA 22 Magnum's in a boot holster, but geez, practically speaking from someone who wears shorts 359 days a year,....

IWB, the right rig is out there, regardless of what you carry.

Boot Knife seems more comfortable....but not for Sperry's and/or flip flops... ::)

Successful carry was a J-frame and a Colt mustang. Never tried my KelTec though I think it would work, but I tried my M&P9c though it was to heavy! I think ankle carry is a very viable carry method for truck drivers and other people strapped into a seat. The key is to find a comfortable holster, I've tried many different ones and most sucked!

M what was the model number of that holster? It sound similar to the holster that I used, though mine used a velcro closure. It was very comfortable. Unfortunately my foot fell through the space between the back of a trailer and the dock and the Holster ripped in half. I haven't been able to find another one as comfortable as that one was!
