In contrast to FQ, I'd have said it didn't go far enough in a couple of minor areas.

+1 from Crusader.  Throw the bums out.  Every one of them who has ever voted for an expansion of government or some additional tax, fee, or assessment needs to find a new job.  We have already given our grandkids an impossible debt to overcome.  We need to stop digging a deeper hole.  The alternative is to learn to speak Chinese,and I'm too old for language lessons.  Hell, I can barely speak English without stuttering and spitting on myself--especially when I get to talking about the current state of affairs.

6) Cut Senate and Congressional pay by 25% staff by 75% limit of 2 terms, no pensions, no senate bank or health care, They need to live the same as the rest of us. (And ENFORCE the damn ETHICS rules). Not only would this save money on salaries,and pensions for every party hack who can weasel a term in office, we would get better Government out of it because the elected officials would actually have to READ the Bills they were talking about and voting on.


I have what I think is a better way on this:
Senate and Congressional pay should be the average household (NET) income of Americans for the previous year. When calculating this figure include welfare recipients as negative net earnings. This will give them incentive to see that people keep their money and stop finding ways to nickel and dime us to death. It would also keep congressional pay in line with the people that they represent. Hopefully eliminating some of the elitist mentality. Also don't allow lawmakers to exempt themselves from ANY legislation. If it's good enough for us, it's damn well good enough for them.
