No one is ever truly safe. If the good Lord says it's time, it's time. But a good .45 is good insurance;)

I think you guys are on to something here. We must start to find ways to actively change the way CCW is perceieved. I know we will never change the minds of dyed in the wool red commies in the government and media, but there are plenty of people who are on the fence or are just plain ignorant on the issue. The NRA is our best chance of getting the message across to the masses. Until our society grasps the concept that gun free zones and workplaces that forbid CCW are failing, these random acts of murder and mayhem will go on. The zero tolerance policies concerning guns are batting a big FAT ZERO!!

Taking that a step further, I wonder why the NRA doesn't have a legal department that operates like the ACLU does for criminals etc....a legal department that goes to bat against restrictive laws for the unarmed, victimized citizen. I would think that would be a great area to exploit with a heavy PR campaign.

Going even further (into the land of OZ) why doesn't the ACLU stand up for the 2nd amendment rights of citizens?

You make a great point Jay. I for one would donate a lot more to the NRA if they had that kind of department and stood behind good citizens as strongly as the ACLU stands behind criminals.
