I'm fortunate in the wife doesn't think we have nearly enough for WTSHTF, but my sons and friends all think in terms of one handgun, one shotgun and one rifle. I tell them I only have one.....of each caliber....okay I do have several .22lr and three .223s, but for the most part I have just one gun.
What bugs me is the way some people, the media especially throw around the word "arsenal". It seems anytime someone has more than one gun they call it an arsenal. I think of an arsenal as containing many of the same gun. You know, 100 M4s, or a 100 PT92s, or a 100 Rem 870s. Bunches of the same gun used to outfit many people. What I have is a "collection". Only one person to be outfitted, but many different guns for many different uses. With a few exceptions none are the same caliber and those that are are distinctly different. (e.g., a national match A2 vs a varmint A4 w/scope) Each gun has a distinctly different purpose. A collection....not an arsenal.
I still need a .243Win, a .260Rem, a 7mm-08, a .308, and oh what was that other thing a 7.62x54R? yeah one of them. Plus I never had a .41Mag or a .44Mag, much less a .38Super. And I hear the FN5.7 is a fun plinker.
One gun is all I have. My perspective.
