A recent Amereican Rifleman reviewed the "tactical" .22s. Remington seemed to be the best accuracy wise at less than 2" (I think 1.9" give or take) at 100 yards. It was also the cheapest at $450 ish. Still, the base model (same gun, no lawn ornaments) can be had for a lot cheaper. I'm with Alf though. Get an H-bar 10-22, some decent after market hi-caps, a red dot, and call it a day. Hel, buy the rifle used and add the barrel and save $$$. Mine is still going strong after almost 30 years and god alone knows how many rounds. I wouldn't blink at buying a used one.
