Here I'm trying to figure out what 9mm I want with the help of everyone on this forum and along comes an offer.Someone offered me a Para Warthog 45 (WHX1045R) ,10+1, 3" barrel, 24oz. for $650. Its for sale here new at $1000+ tax. Sounds like a good deal for CCW however I'm wondering if I might have a control issue with this little power house? My other Para BWC LDA (CX745S) 32 oz. 3.5" barrel is already a power house but I can shoot it well enough using 185 gr.Gold Dot JHP. Does anyone own one of these Warthogs. I'm not into recoil I can't control??

When you get into that bad of a situation you ain't gonna notice recoil just make sure you can get a good grip!

Right good grip is everything for me. But shoot placement is more important. Since I'm not into spray and pray. I need to be confident with what I'm going to protect myself with. There just might be better choices out there. I just not sure how this pistol handles. Need some pros and cons if there out there.

Recoil shouldn't be a problem with that pistol if you are using good fundamentals like grip and stance. In a SHTF case , you will go into what is called a convulsive grip, as long as you can shoot it one handed , no problems.

Hi wisconsin, first with the right Ammo the gun has manageable recoil. While using Golden Saber 185+P it has.... eeerrr...... ummmm   wide grin recoil. I will say my split time did not suffer greatly but El Prez did. Using that package added almost 3 sec.
The same gun is made in 9mm so that maybe a better option but as always trying it maybe the best option. You are almost getting such a good deal that you would probably lose less money reselling the gun than you would renting the same system at a local range. But you need to research that for your area. Hope that helps.

Man I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Chances are you won't be too worried about aim.(It's hard to explain firing on a bad guy that's 25 yards away- he's going to be 2 yards away) The stopping power is there for you. AND if you dont like it you could more than likely get your money back out of it at that price.

Your right If I don't move on this one I know I'll be slapping myself in the morning. Ah!!!!!! My gun safe is calling for another 1911. Thanks for the advice one and all.
