The real problem, (that I'm sure most of you will agree with) that has made me so adamant about my position, is that the entire TSA organization is nothing more than a pathetic political sham.
Because legislators (ie Congress ) would eat a dog turd sandwich to gain a vote they are incapable of implementing real safety programs, but the voters also would not tolerate them doing nothing in the wake of the 9-11 attacks, so instead of taking effective actions, they simply put up BS window dressing figuring that the more of a PITA air travel became, the safer the public would FEEL, perception being more important than actual effect.
Armed pilots is a good example, Several members of Congress supported it despite the efforts of the usual anti gunners. So the opponents included as many road blocks to implementation as possible, including a requirement to handle the firearm during every landing and take off, as well as pushing a padlock, through the trigger guard in front of the trigger, then, when the inevitable AD occurred they could scream the predictable "See ! We told you it was a bad idea, He could have brought down the plane, EEEK, the horror".
But then in Court houses, where they are dealing with violent criminals who got bail, people going through messy divorces, and the other most violent and potentially unstable elements of society what do they have ? One or 2 Bailiffs with a metal detector, I don't recall a Court house bombing since the 60's,except Oklahoma City, and the last judge I heard of being shot got sniped from a near by office building, since both of those incidents occurred from outside the buildings a strip and cavity search at the door would not have had the slightest effect on them.
