I had been planning on getting a compact 9mm this year. The Taurus 709, Ruger SR9c, Glock 26, and XD9 compact had all been on the list. When the Sig 290 came on the scene, I decided to add it to the list. With the introduction of the LC9, I think I'll hold off until the fall to buy, just in case someone else comes out with another Mighty Mouse.

It looks like this year is the "Year of the Pocket 9mm" now with Ruger and Sig (along with the current Keltec PF-9 and Kahr PM9) announcing small 9mm handguns.  I may have to sell my LCP and get an LC9.
If its close to the LCP size and price wise, I'll bet you'll be seeing a lot of used LCPs. And .380 might get cheaper. ;)

Its not. Here is an overlay of the two:

Thanks for the link. All I can see that it has going for it is its cheaper than the G-26. Size wise, its not that different (though slimmer). For an extra hundred, I'd still lean Glock due to mag options and track record. Its too bad as an LCP sized 9 would be nice. Still, I bet they sell an awful lot of these.

I've got my initial impressions of the LC9 up on the blog:

I stand by my prediction that this is going to be the hot category for 2011!

I SO want one of these  ;D
For those who complain about the "manual safety" - You don't have to carry with it ON!   I CCW'd the S&W 3913 for many years (with the hammer down) and never had the safety on.   Point and click  ;)

I just want the LC9's sights,or something similar, on the LCP and I would be quite happy.
