Couple new pieces in the safe, thought I would share. Interesting stories behind them too.
This little Colt Compact started life as a steel framed Commander that was built by my gunsmith and good friend Jeff. He did a little work on it and carried it for a number of years. He used the slide to build another project and installed a Compact 1991A1 slide and a bull barrel and decided to sell it. It now also sports a King's Custom safety and a Videki trigger. My dad purchased it a few days ago for an everyday carry piece.

The SW1911 I bought yesterday from one of my father's coworkers who had been laid off and needed some help putting food on the table. It belonged to a friend of his who had passed away several years ago and was given to him by his deceased friend's parents. It is currently NIB, only test fired by Smith and Wesson. I haven't seen quality on a production 1911 like this since the last time I handled a Dan Wesson. It's absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to shoot it when the weather gets a little better here in the Cascades. The best part is that I paid $500 cash for it.

Not a bad way to start the year, huh?
