I think the companies provided another source of water, but I'm going on my flaccid memory here, so...
The companies won't say what the proprietary chemicals are and that scares the tree huggers. Doing it in an unpopulated area like ANWR would take care of that.
I say, drill baby, drill! Even if it goes to another country it adds to the world supply and should bring down prices.
