Billt, better to steal from homes that have something.

KY has a listing of sex offenders adresses.  Our office manager looks at and finds out her sister is dating one! He not living in his registered address. She calls the troppers and he's back in the pookey in less than a day.

I live in a small town(less than 5000). last friday night we had 23 vehicle break ins. My sons car was one of them, all they got was change. Two of my neighbors cars were broke into also. A few houses down they tore up a guys dash trying to get his stereo out. The local cops think it's a group of teenagers, but they also broke in garages and stole tools. Sounds like a group that knows what they are doing to me.

Not if they only "tried" to get his stero out. Someone who knows what they were doing would have gotten it. Though why I don't know. Cars have come stock with pretty good ones for years. I can't imagine the market for used ones is all that great.

Not surprisingly, nothing close for me, maybe 10-12 miles? But hey, that's ND for ya!!!  ;D

Same for all 3 locations in ND where I have lived - nothing anywhere close.

Evanston, IL, however, where I started out, is a whole 'nuther story. Car break-in just last month across the alley from where I used to live.

My original hometown in northern IL, in spite of huge growth (3500 when I was a kid to nearly 40,000 people now) is still relatively crime-free. North Aurora, another 'nuther story!

The website is out of date for my area, it only lists one shooting from last August (No one hit, domestic beef ), since then there have been a half dozen break in's and home invasions. (all drug related).

Almost every state has a free official .gov search for sex offenders.

This page has the links to most state corrections sites.

All crime is higher than average around here. The city is broke and the first thing they cut was police.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. This will all get worse as unemployment rises and more and more people lose their homes, cars, and credit. About all that will do good is cigarette and booze sales. People always drink more when things look like crap.  Bill T.
