New safe needed, along with recommendations

Howdy all.

Long time member, but haven't posted in a looong time. I am getting a safe, and wanted recommendations. I really like the Gunvault safes for pistols and other small stuff. So, the idea of Gunvault 5900-F or 5926-F was really appealing. They are less than 500 lbs, with some fireproofing and a the same access as my other Gunvaults. However, all my research showed that once their power dies, you can't access them with cutting them open.  If anyone has experience with these models, please let me know!

So, I'm looking for a smaller Cannon or Liberty, and was hoping for y'all's thoughts. I am open to anything, as long as it can go in an upstairs bedroom closet (60X30X24 is about the biggest). Please help!

This subject has come up before, If I had a safe with an electronic lock, I think wiring in a jack for an alternate power source would be a great idea, won't help with a component failure, but will work for a power failure, access the battery from inside the safe, tie into the power supply wires and put a jack in the door in a remote location with some type of cover, even a firearm or optics sticker, and in case of power failure, plug in a dc charger and away you go. I have a home made safe for sale, that is very stout, but unless you live in the DFW area of TX, would be expensive to ship.

I purchased a 28 gun liberty about 10 months ago and love it. I personaly would not buy one with electronic lock, I like the manual dial. Less to go wrong.

I have a Liberty with manual dial and am very happy with it as well. I don't think I could ever go for an electronic version so I hope they continue making the manual ones.

You can also buy inserts to go in a regular safe.....I'm working on making one in the near future for mine.

My current safe is not a fancy one (14 gun Sentry that I paid $350 for a few years back) but it has both an electronic and manual lock. There was a rash of break-ins in the area and all I had was the standard wood cabinet with glass door, so I bought it as more of a temporary stop-gap measure at the time. I'm saving for a larger, stronger unit.

Hi;

     Remember that scopes,bolts and magazines take up extra room/space. If you have 24 weapons, chances are that you will not be able to get all of them in. If you have 24 weapons you may want to think about a 32 gun safe. Maybe you may get to put a few more (1-3) in later. Also remember that if you have more than 1 safe - you got to remember those combinations and the rotation and turns needed. Different safes = different direction of travel and number of rotations between numbers. It can get embarrassing to have someone near you and you are trying to get it right.

     When you have time practice opening the safe(s) weekly, then after a year every month. With all of the activities we have in our lives we tend to forget how its done. I have 1 safe that you have to end up on   "0" to turn the wheel to gain access according to the directions. In reality, I have to stop at "0" then continue on and jiggle the wheel as I jiggle the combination dial to 90 and the safe will open. This is good for me in the event access is gained by someone calling the manufacture and getting the combo ( it can and does happen ).

We use a technique of leaving ourselves a note where you can post an "important contact info" or address. Code your combination so that you know right, left, and numbers etc. from the text of the note. It is important to be very cryptic but also it must stand a quick scan from prying eyes.

Quick update: bought the Centurion by Liberty Safe, 14 gun version, and love it! thanks for all the recommendations. Now to fill it with long guns...
