It has been said, but not verified by me, that the Mexican Government considers this a act of war. 

Can't say I blame them.    We would surely feel the same way if some foreign power was allowing hundreds or even thousands of weapons pass into the hand of our most violent criminals.  Some of the weapons are .50 Barrets.

No it isn't. It is a violation of federal law. It isn't treason, it isn't terrorism, it's simply illegal arms smuggling.
Course when Reagan did it to arm the Contra's it was the end of civilization, but that was differant, He wasn't a Dem.
Besides, it's for the children.

As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter if this under-the-radar gun control was linked to F&F or not.

We should always expect some politician to attack our gun rights at any time.  We need to stay vigilant and be ready to act via calls, letters, e-mails, and forums posts in response.

Jnevis has it pretty much right. BO is to gun control what Reagan was to abortion. Both are hostile, but neither one want to make it a huge issue, particularly where it will cost them votes. BO will do stuff under the radar, like tightening the sporting purposes test, and blaming US weapons for Mexican violence and the like, to keep the antis happy. He has not however, showed any willingnes to get into a pissing contest in the Congress over something like the AWB bill. What he said to Sarah was "We share your concern and we're working on it". That's pol speak for "Screw campaign promises, I'm not doing it. Vote for the other party if you don't like it". Brady understood that, and ratted him out to hopefully get him on the record. BO knew she would do just that and it probably helped restore the faith, and open the wallets, of the more gullible antis. Just another day in DC. ::)
