The covers actually get put in the box by Bushnell, not everybody advertises it. But their useless on this model anyway. Adjustable objective.
I've got those covers on a few scopes. I've found that especially if you ever carry the gun in the woods, I like "Scope coats" more. I leave it on if its raining or dew is dripping outta trees or anything until it's actually time to shoot. Pulling it off is just a fraction quicker than fumbeling with the caps for me. Feels much less "trinkety", and does a better job by protecting the whole scope IMO to.
The flip up caps do LOOK cooler on any gun, and are more fun to play with. But...
Matter of preferance I guess.
