What did you guys think of the new "True Grit"?

I guess on it's own merrits I thought it was good.  I'd never even compare it to the original though!

Knew we'd gone over what we thought about the idea of the remake.  But figured a few if not many had seen it now that it's out on redbox.    That's about the fist place anyone I know gets to see new movies anymore.  None of us can stand paying $8+ bucks, then having to listen to a pack of idiots talking durring the entire movie.  Going to theaters hasn't been an option for YEARS!  

I DID cave in and go see Zombieland in the theater.  Ended up getting the DVD anyway!

Aside from the fact that Bridges takes mumbling to levels never before heard, I enjoyed the remake.  Still, the Duke was the better Rooster.

I believe the story telling is better in the remake, and I would love to see the original case, even Glen, work with the new script.

Yeah right!?!  I had to watch his first few scene's at least twice to translate.  Made me wonder if people should have been calling him "Mushmouth" instead of "Rooster".
