Product Review: Spike's Tactical .22 LR conversion kit for AR-15
« on: February 11, 2009, 08:50:53 PM »
Hey y'all.

I wrote a pretty detailed product review for a Spike's Tactical .22 LR conversion kit for an AR-15 on the Survival Podcast forum.  Here it is: http://thesurvivalpodcast.com/forum/index.php?topic=2817.0

I hope you enjoy it.

I would like to get one, but I think I am more inclined to go for the whole upper. Tactical Solutions made my 1911 conversion kit and I really like it.

They cost more, but that is about the only drawback I can see. Your thoughts?

If cost isn't a factor then a dedicates .22 LR upper would be great.  I like practicing with my same optics, so I would think an dedicated upper would be best for practice with the same optics as your .223.  Maybe you use iron sights on both.

Heavy G,

Thanks. The review was very informative.
The savings make sense.

My bullet trap will stop a .22 not a 5.56.

I Don't use iron sights, I am a bit concerned with shooting .22lr down my match barrel and compensator. I don't know if that is very good for it. I think I would put the same optics on both setups though.
