Saw this video of the dust storm that hit Phoenix. It looks like the freaking  End Times. Seventh bowl, seventh trumpet, "Lord almighty Mabel, there's zombies on the lawn get the shotgun!" kind of stuff. Hell, if I saw footage of that rolling towards me, step one would be checking to see if I had a spare set of undies to go with my spare mag. ;D Hope you had your car in the garage bill.

Looks pretty normal to me. I was in one as a kid in Phoenix that looked just like that, at least to a 14 year old. I watched that sucker come on us as we scrambled to get from the parking lot to whatever it was we were going to. Covered our noses and mouth and endured maybe 30 seconds outside in the storm until we got to the door.

Research "1930's dust bowl"  because of over grazing, and over farming the top 6 inches of several states blew into the Atlantic.

Remember that post about stocking up a roll of plastic sheeting and duct tape for windows and doors?

How hard is it to find air filters for your a/c system and car after that mess passes through?!?

I'd guess if you've got a pool the best thing to do is just throw some grass seed on top and pretend it was never there.   :(

Hey Tim, What do you think caused "the Desert of Maine" ?
It wasn't there in the 20's, part of the Dakota's landed there.

I remember going there in the 5th grade. That was the big class trip!!!! Boy, 48 yrs ago.

It's glacial silt brought down from the last ice age ain't it?  Eventually over farming exposed the silt and now they keep it that way for the tourists....or so the website says.  I'd heard of it before but never checked.....
