Does anyone make a blaze orange Load Bearing Vest
« on: September 23, 2011, 06:26:41 AM »
This summer I've gotten to use a LBV alot between sandbagging and biking.  I like having the options to set it up the way I like so for hunting this fall I'd like to do the same thing. Is there a company that makes a blaze orange Load Bearing Vest (MOLLE)?

I have looked into this, because of the convenience of a MOLLE vest, it made sense for hunting. Alas however the mall ninjas have cornered the market and I haven't been able to find anyone who makes it in orange. I have even talked to Blackhawk about making one custom for me. No Dice. So if you have better luck, let me know.

I haven't looked too hard as I assume you can do as good a job googleing it as I can; it also seems JC has looked into pretty well.

When I read your wants, the first thing that popped into my head was a field vest.

I know it's not "tacticool" or very customizable, but they are pretty useful.  There are other options on that site if you look around a little.

Good luck with the search.

Edited.

Curiosity got a hold of me, and I looked a little more.  A quick search turned up the following.

For ready made, but less fancy.
http://www.loadbearinggear.com/

Rumor has it this place will make you one in orange if you ask.

I can't speak to the quality or service of the last two sites.

I can speak to the quality of Tactical Tailor. I have gotten a few things from them and they have all been top notch.

The loadbearing gear site looks like what I'm wanting.  BUT they are wanting more for their vest than what I paid for my 5.11 vest, not as much as my Camelbak Delta 5 though.  If I was closer to my mom I know she could do it for the price of a standard orange vest, get the webbing from Wal-Mart and a little extra for doing.   OR if I had a machine of my own.

Your definately on the right track.  I think I might send an email to tactical Tailor to see what they can do.  I don't care too much if it's tacticool, I want tacticapractical which is why I use MOLLE gear in the first place.

In Other words THANKS you found what I was looking for.

You're Welcome.

I know you're more concerned about its practicality than its cool factor; that's why I made my first suggestion.  Hope you find that for which you're looking.

I realize that this is an old post....

If you are looking for a Hunter Orange MOLLE vest and pouches check this out.  www.onduty.ca

They just introduced the vest and various pouches.  Really nice product and very affordable!

I hadn't thought of a LBV in blaze. Good idea.
What's the difference between PALS & MOLLE?

I never heard of PALS but a quick look says it's the webbing on the MOLLE.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. Thanks for the clarification.
I never heard of it being called a "Pouch Attachment Ladder System" (PALS) so I didn't know if this was some new/better/different thing.
