I enjoyed this episode...esp. the info on repeated shots on target to stop an aggressor. I do have one question on your insight on the .357Mag snub revolver.....a person I know who carries a SP101 told me that he carries a .357Mag round in the chamber that he first fires followed by four .38SPL+P rounds. His reasoning is that the first Magnum round is a close-range, "get-offa-me" shot and that one .357Mag = 2 .38SPL+P. He uses the remaining .38SPL+P rounds for quicker follow-up shot.

1. Is his reasoning sound?

2. Any reason NOT to do this (either mechanically or tactically)?

Ask your friend if he thinks he is giving up a lot of effectiveness if he faces two assailants...or more.

What about his reloads if any ?
Does he have his speed loaders or strips set up the same way ?

I believe so...he uses speed strips, so he'd have at least one .357Mag & 4-5 .38SPL (if he uses 6-rnd. clips)....
