Ruger Alaskan question

Now that you are back Gringo, I can ask this. There is always a fair bit of interest in .44 mag on the board. Do you still have that Alaskan, and if so what is your take on it with the passage of time? are you happy with the accuracy, do you find yourself carrying it, etc.?

The only time I carry it is in a nylon bag when I hike (just in case).  Too damn heavy to carry for any real length of time and I haven't a proper holster for it.  I would however wear it proudly if I went into deep woods or if I were a hunter.  Hmmmm....maybe something to consider.

That said.  I LOVE this gun.  Solid, well built and so fun to shoot.

I'm really interested in this as well. I've got a 2-3" barrel .44mag or larger high on my list wish. I like the durability of the Alaskan but have been leaning towards a S&W 329 for the weight savings. I'm just wondering if half the weight will equal more than double the recoil.
