?? Burris scope and FastFire sight, any good??
« on: January 10, 2012, 02:57:09 PM »
I,m looking for advise/reviews on the following Burris scope & fast fire setups? I have an AR rifle that I need to complete with a sighting system of some sort. I have iron/back up sights on it. I would like a scope and red dot set up on it to make a multi duty work horse. I know the xtr set up is almost double in cost the FF tac 30. The reviews I have seen, have been good but only a few.

1)Burris Fullfield Tac 30 with Fast Fire Sight
2)Burris XTR Riflescope Combo(fast fire included)

I can vouch for the FastFire II.  I have used one on my Glock, 12ga, and AR.  Great and rugged for the price.  I was turned on to it because when I was looking for a red dot to mount on the slide of my Glock I found that there are only a handful of companies that will tell you YES you can mount our sight on the slide of an auto loading pistol and YES it will hold up.  The Burris is the cheapest one that will take the slide mount.

As for the scope,  I looked into the Burris scopes, and many others as well. I ended up going with a Redfield 4x9 with the BDC reticle.  It is calibrated for the 223 or what ever you are using.  It has better optics than (to me) than any other scope that I looked at under $600.  Great eye relief, Leupold owns them.  They have a brand new line out that is pretty BA!!!  I paid $130 for mine and I love it.  The optics are so good that on 4x setting I can use it like a red dot and shoot with both eyes open, and it allows me to acquire targets at close range quickly.  Gander mtn has them on display.
