I'm here! Let the party begin! ::)

Seriously...I am a long time shooter and helped start IDPA, here in Maine.
I am a computer geek and educator by trade but my passion is shooting and self defense.

I am also a great admirer of Michael’s Media Monster. Michael’s willingness to speak up on the Smith Wesson lock issue and willingness to stand up to the US Forest Service has earned my respect.

It’s good to be home!

Hello

Long time member of THR.  I live in northern IL, wife and 3 kids, long time hunter and shooter.  NRA Endowment Life Member, NRA rifle instructor, 3 gun competitor, cowboy action shooter, former trap/skeet competitor (don't do that much anymore).  Latest love is rifles...especially modern military pattern and mil-surps.  My FFL03 C&R has fed this hobby and made me poor.

Here's me at an Appleseed earlier this year

Welcome aboard kilo. As a former inmate of Illinois, you have my condolences for all of the crapola Da Mayor and his minions have heaped upon that state. As someone once said, this used to be a helluva state.

I too am into the modern military patterns. Fun to shoot. Enjoy, and again, welcome.

Greetings from NW Indiana.  I belong to the NRA, Garand Collectors Association and have a 03 FFL Curios & Relics license and love to hand load.  More of a collector than shooter but find that order almost intolerable.

First longarm I ever bought was a 1838 Springfield musket in 1972, the last longarm I bought this year was a Bushmaster AR15....you might say I like them all.  Favorite three rifles in my stable to take to the range are 1. Remington Rolling Block rifle, 2. M1 Garand, 3. AR15.  Thank you for having me, I'm looking forward to learning from y'all.

Rockcreek,

Is that Remmy rolling block one of their single shots?  My son is looking at them and I wondered how well they shoot. He is thinking .270.

Thanks,

Hazcat

Hello All, and thanks for the site, Mike!

Retarded, er , retired Merchant Ship's Engineer/Officer, here.  Love Stuffed Shells, and unstuffing them, and stuffing them again - (hence the "Handle").

Range Officer at my local Range, all who visit Gig Harbor, Washington are invited to be my guest at the range any Tuesday.

I also am a Minuteman.  Spend much time helping with that, on both North and (Soon) the Southern One.

Welcome from down in Olympia  :)
Wouldn't mind dropping by Gig Harbor sometime.   Just got a new Reminton 700 Varmint .308 that I need to test out  8)

This is a great place for info and firearm videos  ;D

Yes Hazcat it is a single shot rifle, quite accurate and a joy to shoot.  It's an original model 1867 Remington in 12.7x44mm cal. which is a Swede cartridge and equates somewhat to the 50-70.    I think a new made Remington rolling block rifle in .270 caliber would be an ideal rifle and will have to add one for the wish list.
