Welcome Rickzee,
The intro  isn't exactly "obligatory" but it gives you a chance to tell us things that might not come up in posts on topics, like the bit about Commercial diver and photographer.
You are a perfect example of the fact that while it is guns that bring us here, there are people here who know something about absolutely EVERYTHING. If you have a question about ANYTHING in life there is some one here that deals with it or studies it for work or another hobby.
