Range Day!

Another beautiful spring morning in the cold Northeast!  About 72 degrees this fine day and another shooting session with my Bro-in-law.  This time with the S&W 317-3 in .22lr...

Gun fit him better than my LCR with his freakishly long booger hook.  He stayed on target and started "feeling" the trigger press after a couple of cylinders.  He's getting there and more excited and comfy handling the firearm.  His targets were littered with good hits and he had one cylinder where he put 6 of 8 in a 1" group.  He didn't realize it till I showed it to him though!

I was quite impressed with that little .22!  It's a very accurate little pea shooter with the 3" barrel!

I ran into a guy I've met there again who allowed me the privilege to shoot his Vaquero, his S&W 27 and S&W 29!  Ya gotta love gun guys!

A great day at the range beats watching a St. Pats parade any day....especially if you're an Orangeman, don't ya know!!!

I'll probably go tomorrow or the next day. It's going to be in the low 80s. My calander says it's still winter for a couple of days but I've already been running the a/c. This has never happened before in my lifetime.

Been a long time since this has happened for me as well!  Once, back in the sixties, we got about four inches of snow the first week in May in Grand Rapids!  It can work both ways!

The wife and I were going to shoot our hand guns yesterday but It started to snow first thing in the morning. It's really hard to pick up cases in the snow. The white stuff should be gone next weekend, I HOPE.

Revolver day today...all brass (mostly .22) was policed and saved....makes it simple!  I wish others were as courteous.  The place was littered with spent cases, thousands of them...

With this warm weather,..(I live in S. FL, so nevermind) I went to the range also, Had some fun with Tannerite, and a friends PTR 91 in .308, as well as firing my first SBR in full auto. (Not Mine) , as well as some Garand time, and took the 1916 Luger for another ride...some others were fired, but we were enjoying 78 degrees with a breeze.....which we usually do this time of year,....(like I said, nevermind).....

 

Still a great way to finish out the weekend. Glad folks also let it rip on the range.

BTW...in case anyone remembers my elbow issues....

Shooting a .44 Magnum with a severe case of tennis elbow was painful but I was able to put five in a 3" group at my 10 yard target with it...the smile on my face was noticeable from a distance.  The ice came later!

 

I'm shooting more these days while I don't belong to a range...now to find a job and get back to my wish list!

 Me too, but my gun and range are 1531 miles away.  I'll be shooting next weekend at home, might get a chance to shoot some sporting clays this week if all goes well though

Having shot mostly revolvers lately, not having to "pick up" brass is a good thing.  Though with reloading drills, even over a table, I tend to loose a few.

If you reloaded you could bring down those .44mags a little and make them more enjoyable to shoot. 


Timothy:  To answer the question from your SIL, Blazer "brass" as long as it is brass, re-loads just fine.   No problems.    If it weren't for the headstamp, I'd have guessed it was Starline, by the overall look of it.   Thanks.
