Are you a Veteran or know one
« on: March 31, 2012, 10:17:00 AM »

obama really DID propose this in a meeting with the American Legion...
He doesn't seem to have much respect for the military.
Maybe in the future our leaders should be veterans.
THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SEE THIS!!
THE MOST STUPID STATEMENT EVER BY A PRESIDENT-Unbelievable

THIS MOST UNBELIEVABLE PRESIDENT?
HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO REQUIRE THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.
Bad press, including major mockery of the play by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 billion annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit.. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their families whom you know. How in the world did a person with this mindset become our leader?
REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT...."Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?"

If he thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service he ought to think it over... If you or a family member is or has served their country please pass this to them.
Please pass this to everyone. I'm guessing that other than the 20-25 percent hardcore liberals in the US will agree that this is just another example why
this is the worst president in American history. Remind everyone over and
over how this man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king...

But to top that off.....he is perfectly happy providing insurance to illegal aliens!!!!!!

Every fact checking site on the internet suggests that this not true!

Check your facts please.

I don't like the guy but I'm not about to pass on something that I know is questionable and yes, I'm a Veteran!

When this made the rounds the first time, it was discredited.

I'm a proud Vet.  I don't need this to fuel my dislike for the current resident of the WH.

Every day in every way Odamna provides additional reasons to vote his sorry a$$ out of office.

Still, I am amazed at the numbers of my fellow Americans/sheeple who continue to believe this fraud.

Yes he did try to cut the military health care. There is some truth about this. I was in Iraq when this was announced and it quickly got rejected. It was in the Army times and the Stars And Stripes.

No doubt he's tried with Congress to take away things that were promised our retirees from the Military.  My alumni forum is constantly complaining about their Tricare benefits.  I certainly wouldn't trust him or his party to try and do more damage.

But, the quote from above was pieced together for effect and not necessarily what he said at that time.

The Truth:

On March16, 2009, members of the American Legion met with President Obama where he discussed "a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries."  The non-profit veterans service organization, American Legion, issued a statement voicing its concerns on its web site shortly after the meeting.

Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion said that Obama “ is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it.”

A March 17, 2009 CNN article said the "chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs vowed Tuesday that the plan would never gain the panel's approval. 'VA's sacred duty is to care for veterans injured in honorable service to our nation, and the department should not turn to wounded warriors' private insurance to pay for combat injures,' said Sen. Daniel Akaka, D-Hawaii. 'Under my chairmanship, the Veterans' Affairs Committee will not advance any such legislation.'"

On the afternoon of March 18, 2009 Fox News reported that the Obama administration has changed their mind on this plan.

I am not a Veteran, but come from a family that are, and perhaps it's just me,....and Col. Jeff Cooper, that remarked all Veterans, Honorably Discharged, should have any further Federal taxes abated, and removed. Same with healthcare costs,...or perhaps given the equivalent of our distinguished Members Of Congress, and Federal employees...

Yes the VA could use some improving, but having this current admin, undermine, nickel and dime, increase deductibles, and/or any other provision that cuts benefits or increases costs, is an insult.

But than again, from this admin. we know that, and the anointed one, could care less.....

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

I kept some of my health care after my second deployment. Right after this came out my health care went way up. I can hardly pay it but I have kids so oh well. I wish I had the health care that the politicans have.
