I got mine done about 2 months ago and got a refund. Later on I got another $6 for EIC that I didn't think I was eligible for. That was a nice surprise but not much to celebrate.

Hi;

     I waited until today to get taxes prepped  and will get back money from all 3 entities. Expect to get the money in 3 weeks according to my CPA.  That will be just the right time. 1st week of May I go on Vacation for a week - with what I will get back in refunds I can spend more at the Vets and Bar's on Base and still have plenty to cover any unforseen things that may pop up.

     Actually, the refunds will pay for a new roof and heating oil for next winter.

Sent the bstrds a check today.  I have had to bend over further and smile broader this year and next than I ever had to before.  Scrw the government.

I had everything done, just never filed until about 2+ weeks ago. Got both Fed and State refunds and moved them to savings.

Since I was unemployed a lot of last year, and took money from my IRA (without penalties) and withheld taxes, I actually made up for the bit I worked, so a nice refund.

They are sitting there in savings building up so that Heaven forbid I ever go through that whole unemployment thing again, I have a little something. At least until the Feds find out I have money just sitting there, and they decide to spread it around to someone else!  >:(

If pay roll deduction were eliminated and everyone had to write a check at the end of the year you would see two things:
1) IRS would be swamped with delinquent accounts
2) There would be a huge outcry from those that have to pay taxes for reform.

we wait till june 30 for our end of financial year and put the return in after that,  I normally end up paying too much tax and get a bit back :)
