I too use blue loctite on all my mounts and scope rings.

Tip: If you ever have trouble removing the screws, Like somebody may have used red, take a soldering iron to the screws, when it starts smoking, the loctite is dissolving. ;D

I had good luck letting a LITTLE mineral spirit soak into the threads, takes more time but less effort.  Might try the same with your wifes finger nail polish remover it's almost pure acetone, It will also eat through Super glue
