This has got to be one of the worst pranks I've ever seen. Jeopardizing LEO's, families, and gun owners.

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/06/robert-farago/question-of-the-day-what-would-you-do-if-you-were-swated/

“Conservative bloggers say they are being terrorized by a potentially deadly prank in which phony 911 calls bring armed cops to their doors in search of criminals, all in retaliation for their blog posts,
foxnews.com reports. “At least two conservative Internet pundits have reported being victims of ‘SWAT-ing.’ In one incident, the caller claimed to be the resident of the home and confessed to shooting his wife [phone call above].” Interesting that it took police 19 minutes to pull LA Deputy DA Patrick Frey (a.k.a., Patterico) from his digs. Equally interesting, in an OMFG kinda way, what the hell would any well-armed citizen do when the SWAT team arrives? In this no-knock militarized police world we live in, you wouldn’t even have time to hide the dogs. As for those of us who home carry, uh-oh. What YOU gonna do when they come for you, especially if you don’t know it’s them?

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Guess I would be dead.  My .40 is right at my bed side.  If they came busting in without announcing they were police I would hunker down beside my bed and shoot the first man thru the door then I guess I would be meat sauce along with my wife.  I don't blog and I guess I won't ever.
Do you know the results, what happened?

Since I am a law abiding citizen, I have no reason to believe that those armed people busting down my door are there for any other reason than to harm me.  Yep, this is going to end very badly.  Specially if they shoot my dog.

I can only hope that once one of these "pranks" gets someone killed (and that will happen) that the authorities can track down the "prankster" and prosecute it for some flavor of murder.

OK, the leftoids are controlling the discussion YET again!!! This is not a prank, it is a crime - filing a false police report to start.

The potential consequences are too serious and the intent on the part of the leftoids is so despicable that we need to call it out for what it is - a crime, and something to be prosecuted to the fullest if/when the perps are caught.

I think that's the point, of the so called "prank". Murder by proxy (cop)? I thought 911 calls showed address and number? If the number is blocked, quite a bit more investigation should be done before SWAT is dispatched.

There is a program you can get for smart phones that allow you to insert another number that will show up on caller ID.

The really pathetic part is that the first several comments I read objected to the writers "taking the Lords name in vain".
Apparently they are OK with trying to get some one killed.

If someone get's killed it will be manslaughter on the caller's part and a failure to confirm the call should put massive liability on the policing agency.

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.
It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.
